Aaron Gonzalez is a multi disciplined creative whose overall objective as an artist is to contribute to culture. Aaron's artwork is uplifting, aims to spread positivity and promote community engagement. With this project specifically, Aaron hopes to contribute to the representation of the Latino community in Los Angeles and document this historical moment in time.

Aaron Gonzalez is a Mexican-American artist and designer who is dedicated to contributing to culture. He focuses on creating artwork that leaves a positive impact and elevates the mood of the viewer. Aaron moved from Santa Maria, CA to Los Angeles in 2016 to study Communication Arts at Otis College of Art and Design (BFA ‘19). His work has been exhibited throughout Los Angeles, New York and London.

Aaron Gonzalez’s painting “Stay Connected LA” illustrates the community of East Los Angeles coming together and uplifting one another during the Covid crisis. While times may be uncertain, the Latino community of East LA stays optimistic and makes the most of the situation while complying with public health and safety regulations. Keck School of Medicine of USC has played an incredible role in educating the community about the virus and ways to keep families safe. “Stay Connected LA” emphasizes how integral Keck School of Medicine is to the community of East Los Angeles and how their well being is a top priority. “Stay Connected LA” combines multiple touchpoints to authentically represent East LA’s community. From a masked mariachi band playing at Mariachi Plaza, a young family going on a walk, an elderly couple keeping each other company indoors, a young man focused on fitness, and the skyline of Downtown LA in the distance past Whittier Boulevard. This painting addresses multi-unit housing, public transportation, and the prioritization of family. These visual elements come together to document and uplift East LA during this historical time.
